Is anyone else having difficulty obtaining a new filter press? I ordered one from our friends north of the boarder (several months ago) and after inquiring several times I am no closer to having it on site. Is there that much demand for new presses or is there something going on in the industry I don't know about?

I have never had a problem getting any of the 3 presses I have owned, one was from the city you live in and the other was less than a 2 hour drive from Merrill. Perhaps if you shopped locally or US made you would have the press in your hands.

Is it the plastic framed press?

No it's cast aluminum, I like the idea of plastic but am not sold on the long term durability.

There are several used presses on the market but haven't found what I'm looking for so I am purchasing new. If I were looking for a standard 7" press I could have one tomorrow. I'm currently borrowing one from a friend so its not pressing I have it until the 2018 season. Just seemed like a longer lead time than it should to make a press.

My point was that there are multiple different company's in wisconsin that make 5", 7", and 10" presses. A 7" or 10" would work for you depending on the configuration.
