Grates - Metal vs Brick/Refractory

Hey all,

With this 2x6 I am planning, I need to make a decision on grate system. For me metal would be the easiest to fabricate and replace if needed. But what advantages are there of brick or refractory grates/flooring in the evaporator? This build is AOF/AUF.

Either will work fine. I built a steel grate with angles pointing down so they fill with ash and they are untouched by several years of use.
