Arch placement?

Hey all,

Building a new 2x6 for next season and I want to place it with as little room behind it as possible to maximize space in the sugar house. In your experiences how does this work out for evaporator operation?

I've got my arch 8" from the wall. The wall is lined with steel and an airspace. I have no reason to go behind the arch so I pushed it back as far as possible.
