Is there a formula for boiling concentrate levels?

My question is if I'm taking 2% sap and removing 50% of water, that is making 4% concentrate correct?

Then I am halving the boil time. I am reading where some are taking concentrate to 10% so this is 1/5th the boil time?

New to maple, had 100 taps this year on 3/16 and had a ton of sap, have 1000+ more trees, looking to expand modularly over the next few years, and am planning my RO build/evap expansion accordingly.

I made a spreadsheet for straight boiling, and am trying to get the formula for RO to work in it so I can determine the size RO I can build for my current evap- 25gph and then upgrade to a 2x6 or bigger in a few years and then upgrade the RO for more taps, hopefully without straight buying new equipment every year.

Thanks for any input.

I have the MES app for my phone. It's got a couple cool calculators that can give you an idea. But you are right. If you bring 2% sap to 4% you are taking off %50 of water. There is a calculator for that also. Their calculator uses 87 as the divider on the sap calculator. So if you know the grid of your sap say 1% it will take 87 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. Then you would have to factor in your evaporator gph to get an accurate boil time.
