Hey all,

My new used 2x6 raised flue pan set is on the way. I will be building the arch for it. The main thing I am looking for guidance on is the critical distances in regards to the ramps up to the flues and down from the flues. The flue pan is 2x4. From the start of the flue pan how much of an opening is needed before the ramp. Same question at the end of the flue pan. I appreciate the help.

I found this video on another post showing the bricking and the back ramp dimensions but I am still uncertain on the front ramp dimensions and how much space from the start of the raised flue pan should be open at the front ramp.

I would have your ramp end at 1ft into your flue pan, giving you a 3ft deep firebox, and I would have your end ramp about 4" from the back dropping straight down then out. Leaving you with a 30-32" flat area under the flue pan, hope that helps.

With wood on my 2x6 i used 18" for the front of the pan exposure to the firebox and 3.5"-4" for exhaust drop out in the back.
