Of the most interesting info learn at the annual meeting was the fact that one member of are association, tapped in January and made syrup on April the 10th. He has extreme elevation compared to most Association producers. His camp sets at 3300 foot and all his trees are above that up to 4600 foot. Quit a week or two before most Vermonter's, Also there was a very interesting presentation by West Virginia/ Virginia CDL Rep., he presented a power point presentation on the increase of syrup made by 5 different producers by simply drilling a half a inch deeper, if my memory serves me correctly one producer made 330 more gallons after his tree completely stopped, (he uses CV 1s) he had made over seven hundred gallons before they quit! CDL Rep. has detailed numbers on amount of sap gained by re-drilling by all five producers, numbers don't lie!
