I have 2 drum bungs that were really corroded after opening them up. The drums and bungs are two years old. Its a good thing we emptied it out because it was cracked and was not sealed. These are the tri-seal bungs. Should we be replacing the bungs with new ones every year? Anybody else have this issue? The pic shows the old one and a new one side by side.

It's pretty cheap insurance to replace the caps every year. I do it with my plastic jugs.
Those bungs look like aluminum. I hate those because they corrode. I have a few that came with stainless bungs. So far I have not found a source for stainless bungs that I could justify the price.

Stainless steel replacement bungs are available for 12$ from Bascousa.

It just stinks that you pay $160 for a drum and every year you have to get two new bungs that are $3 a pc.

I noticed that some of the drums are coming with plastic bungs. They work alright if you get the ones with the bigger top vs the flush fitting ones. Stainless bungs are nice unless you ship syrup, in which case you may not get them back.
