Here's a question-----I have a 2 X 6 Maple Pro evaporator with a 2 X 2 sugar pan on an arch with a oil burner. I am cleaning up from this past season and I can see that the side of the sugar pan, adjacent to the sap pan, is scorched from the burner. The bottom looks OK. How much of problem is this ? Is there a way to prevent excessive heat coming up from between the pans ?
Thanks--

There should be some gasket material wedged in between them. That will prevent the problem.

Thanks. I have gasket material along the bottom of the evaporator. I'll see if I can wedge some vertically between the pans
Thanks for the advice

I'm glad to hear you had the material on hand for an easy fix.
