I am looking at getting an ro ... cdl hobby model.. where does everyone store there machines in off season is it possible to put ro in sugar camp in March then remove it in May.. that way you don't have to heat a room all winter? Any thoughts?

If you drain the RO and remove the membrane(s) you can leave the RO at the sugar camp.

No reason you have to leave it at your sugarhouse. If I had a small one I would put it in my basement for the off season.

CDL models including the hobby model are designed to remove the membranes and store them separately in a storage canister. They are designed to be drained and then if heat would go off during off season, if unit is fully drain larger models and hobby models also, then the unit wouldn't suffer any damage. Removing membranes is quick and easy to do.

Yes it is designed to be drained every day if you do not have stored in a heated room. Here's a link to the manual for it.
