Ok so I have a few questions about arches.

1.) has anyone ever made an arch from an old wood stove?

I used a leader half pint this past year, Honestly great little rig! Ended up making about 14 gallons this year. I was thinking of getting a bigger rig, as we all do.

2.) has anyone modified a half pint arch to make it into a 2x5 or 2x6? Whatever rig I get next will most likely be my last.

Say if I decide to sell the leader half pint and build an arch

3.) where can you purchase cast iron fronts/doors? The only place I have really noticed was H2O innovations.

Thanks everyone for your help I do appreciate it!!!!

Have you looked into the half pint extension kits?

I don't know if you have seen this, but Leader makes an extension kit for the Half Pint to make it a bigger evaporator. That would be an option to gain more out of your rig without buying a new one.

Thanks for the replies guys I do appreciate it! I have seen the extension kits but unfortunately I haven't seen any reviews or videos on it. I'm just wondering if I were to buy it would it actually work like a 2x66 or not. I feel that not many people are using it.

I did. Here's a thread I wrote on the process. If you think you might go down that road let me know - there are a few things I might've done differently from the outset.

FYI, it's pretty tiny, but I get 3.5 gph, which is enough for my 15 taps.

Cheers!
