Deer run 250

What's the highest sugar content that anyone has reached with one of these units. Just curious if I had gotten one of these units and left it recirculating in the tank what's the highest sugar content that it could safely go.

I regularly go to 10% by recirculating. Seems Like a sweet spot to me. You can go higher, but permeate rate is dropping dramatically at that point. I am using MES membranes.

Just looking at comparing units it seems some of the hobby units only run up to 8%

We only do a single pass with our Deer Run 250 and it sweetens to 8% and puts out 50 gallons of sweet per hour. That works well for us because our evaporator can easily keep up with it, so after we have about 65 gallons in our feed tank, we fire up our evaporator. That gives us time to clean the RO while the last of the sap is running through the evaporator.
