Pan ratio on 2x8?

Hi all,

On a typical 2x8 arch are the syrup and flue pans set up as 3-5 or 2-6 usually? Or is it just preference?

Either way. If you plan on running an ro, particularly at higher concentration, 3/5 would be a better choice. For cooking raw sap, 2/6 would be better.

My 2x8 has a 2x5 flue pan and 2x3 flat pan. It boils very nice.
