So went to fire up tonigh checked pans syrup pan all good. Flu pan was like gel hand sanitizer. Started with clean pans on Saturday boiled shut down. Got down to 35 deg here last night. Anyone have any ideas on this.
Sounds like your syrup has gone ropey.

Just tapped the trees 2 weeks ago syrup in front pan was fine. So does this mean I'm done?

Maybe not. Drain your whole rig and scrub the pans start with all fresh. You need to get rid of the bacteria growing in there.

I used to get that clear gel-like sludge in my float box if it got too warm between runs. As others have mentioned caused by bacteria. Now I drain my float box in between runs and make sure concentrate in flue pan gets a good hard boil before I shut down.

I have had this happen and it was always after I had flooded the pan at shutdown then got a warm couple days. Now I make sure all sap I put in the pan has boiled for at least 15-20 minutes. I have not had any problems after I started making sure I left sterile sap. Now if it get's a warm stretch and I won't be boiling I drain and keep my sweet in an old refrigerator or finish it.

If the sap was brought to a boil you should be ok for a good 4 days, 5 at the max before you need to get the stuff out of there. It sounds as if maybe some sap or concentrate got brought in and didn't get sterilized (heated). I have never had a flue pan go bad after only 2 days.
