Very nice! Once you start boiling sap, you'll probably run it with the door cracked for air though.
Good luck!

Yeah with the door cracked it was burning a lot better. I might fabricate air vents or something.

Well done! Will you put a smokestack on it?

I built one this year as well. I run with the door open 2"-3" and it will do around 10 gph, burning hardwood, on a 27" x 47" flat pan. Had the custom sized stainless pan formed and tig welded for $275.00, tank was $20, and another $100 for some angle iron, fire board, and a draw off valve. $400 well spent!

is that a smokey lake pan? if so what size is it and what do you figure you evaporation rate is? might build an arch out of an oil tank and buy a 2x5 or 2x6 hybrid pan from them to get about 20-25 gph hopefully

I bought an oil tank evaporator last season, created a raised arch in the back half, and lined the front fire box with brick. This year I added a small fan hooked into the threaded fill hole. I went from 6 gph to 10 or 12gph. Sure makes a difference, especialy when it's 11:00 pm and you still have a barel full of sap. Also you don't get any big accumulation of coals.

I have a 2x5 on my oil tank and have no problem getting 25 gph with a blower
