How to wire up 12v temperature control switch to Shurflo

Ok, this isn't working for me as I must be missing something.

I bought a 12v temperature control switch, have the setting adjusted right, power hooked up and LED display working. But when it trips the thermostat it does not turn my pump on.

Do I need another device between the pump and thermostat?

From the negative post of the battery, connect to the negative terminal of the temperature controller and the negative terminal of the pump. From the positive post of the battery connect to the positive post of the temperature controller and to either terminal of the switch on the temperature controller. Connect the other terminal of the switch to the positive terminal of the pump.
