Found a crack on the front of my evaporator (cast, fire box). It's horizontal between the hinges. Hair line crack but it's through. Is this anything to worry about? Kind of late to do anything about it for this year. Should I do anything???Any info will help. Thank You.
If it is a cast front then it is pretty common.

It will probably spread if you do nothing, but not necessarily very fast. The corner fell off of one of my doors last year.
If you can get a piece of ceramic blanket behind it to insulate it, that should help.

I'm not one of them, but there's plenty of people that can weld cast iron. Like you say, it's late to do anything this year, and like BAP said, it's common for the castings to crack, and they can certainly be run with cracks.

I've got a vertical crack on mine that goes from the door opening to the top of the arch front. I squeeze it together with a bar clamp and keep on boiling.
One way to stop the crack from spreading is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack.
My Evaporator has a crack in the cast. Above right door
