smoke stack question for barrel arch

I am almost done with my new, 2 pan barrel evap. I just need a smoke stack. I went to Home depot, found the 90deg. boot for the pipe, and the pipe both in 6 in. both are galvanized, and prolly really only meant for duct work in a house, not a smoke stack. They had some "black pipe" but not the 90 deg part I need, . Go to Lowes , across the street, same thing, half of everything I need. Is there a problem with using galv. if it is not in an enclosed area?( zinc)

Nope. I do it. The duct pipe will only last a few years, but for the price it's well worth it.
Only advice I would give is to run the rig with water first so any nasties that come off the pipe when first heated won't end up in the syrup.
