I had nothing going on tonight so i decided to do a little boiling and free up some room in my freezer because the next couple of days seem to look like good weather. The weather here in NY has been all over the place this year! Anyway this is how it came out tastes great and i love the dark color is gets from doing most of the boiling over an open fire. This is only my first year doing it and I love it so far! I have seen so much of a difference in both the taste and the color from the syrup early in the season as compared to late in the season and also how light in color it is at the end of the process from doing the boiling completely over a propane or oven burner as compared to a very dark syrup when you boil over a fire as i did here. This is a great hobby and I'm so happy i started doing it, i'm kind of getting addicted to it :lol: and have already planned out exactly what i'm going to do to make my operation bigger next year! Also appreciate all your guys help with answering the questions i have had this season! Thanks!

Neat!!! Mine is all very light and conditions haven't been good for outside. I am a TEEEEENNY operation of one tree with three taps. I boil every day and get half a pint or two half pints as of late.

Eww no Karren French Toast and I may be in though. LOL
Nice job and welcome to the new addiction.
So many helpful and so many insightful people on these boards.
I think there is more information on this forum concerning this hobby than any other hobby and forum I have been involved in. I know its the most supportive group of people in a hobby.
