Buddy Syrup?

What are the charecteristics of buddy syrup other than taste?
If i washed my pan do i still plan on boiling 100 gallons to sugar the pan again?

The sap I boiled on the stove today had a very slight odor when boiling. I wasn't positive that it wasn't something burned on the range. The quickly boiled syrup was very light, and had a whitish cloudy suspension in it. The taste was absolutely horrible. I don't even like to think about it now. I can't imagine any good use for this stuff.

What do wholesalers do with buddy syrup? Or don't we want to know?

I can't imagine. My son took a tiny taste on his finger, looked at me with big eyes for a second when the aftertaste kicked in, then spun around twice quickly! Then he drank my glass of lemonade. It doesn't have any positive qualities I can think of.

The only positive is that the buyers still pay good money for it!

Its used mostly for flavoring, yeah I know who would eat it. But its for stuff like chewing tobacco, and things like that.But like Ibby said, buyers pay for it so they can do whatever they want with it.

That is the stuff that is the 2% real maple syrup in Log Cabin and others. It is also processed into granular sugar and is used for flavoring in many products where you wouldn't notice the off flavor.
