How can I tell if I have too many taps on my 3/16 line? I want to max out the number of trees on a line, but want too be sure it is not too many.

I have been told to try to get 20 with no more than 25. Hope this helps.

You can tell that you have too many when the bubbles in the drop tubes at the lowest taps barely move while the bubbles flowing past the lowest tees move really fast. The lowest tap bubbles should move slowly, but not "Oh, God, I'm growing old watching them!" slowly.

Also your upper drops may fill full of sap if line is overloaded. I have some lines with 35 with no problems. If you have the 30 ft of elavation change and no leaks check your gauges. Your vacuum will fall off if overtapped from back pressure.
