3/16th to main line question

I have my 3/16th running into a 5/16th saddle on my mainline. My question is how long of a 5/16th piece of tubing should I have between the saddle and 3/16th? Some of my pieces are 3 feet and are full of air bubbles. Does this slow down the flow? Should it be just a few inches of 5/16th?

I tee'd in one 3/16 to another and didn't have a 3/16x3 tee. So used two 5/16 drop tee's and a couple of feet to 5/16. It collects the bubbles for sure, but runs fine.
