If RO is working properly then no or at least VERY little. Most people with RO's check their permeate regularly to ensure that there is no sugar passing. If sugar is detected in the permeate it usually means there's a problem

thanks. assume thats why the permeate thats being sold is marketed as tree water. not maple water
