I have a very large tree with beaver damage at the base from (what appears to be) years and years ago. (This is my first season at a new house, so I can't be sure exactly how long ago the damage occurred). This tree is not producing much sap at all, despite appearing healthy last summer. Could the beaver damage at the base be the cause? Or is it possible it is just taking longer to thaw because it is a fairly large tree?
Thanks.
