It's time for an RO. I've been in the process with USDA for a year now and it looks like we are going to be moving on it in the next week. Looking for reccomendations on 250-400 size machines. Talked to Bascoms and Sam likes the Leader Extreme. Seems good but quite a bit more than others on the market.

Look at MES, Clayton is great to work with and not as pricey as Leader. He is in NH too.

Good idea thanks. I haven't got the final sizing from USDA should have that today. But its at the point I'm going to buy one either way in the next week or so.

Don't forget to give Chris from The Maple Guys a call too, he is good to deal with and runs this website. He's located not too far from you either.

Frankly, my experience with support for my mes ro hasn't been so great.
If I were to do it again, I'd look elsewhere.

Ended up with a 600 CDL from Bascoms today. I wasn't impressed with MES. He answered 2 emails then got pissy when I asked more questions. Sorry but a machine that costs this much I should be able to ask questions. Sam replied to emails and calls. Got it in for me before we knew if the grant was a go or not. Of course we all know they are good people over there but I was impressed.

You will be happy with your CDL machine. It is super simple to operate and does a great job

Sorry to hear about your experience with MES. I have one of his 3 post Dolly units and when I had some issues during this past run early last week that couldn't be resolved in a couple of emails, Clayton drove out to my sugarhouse at 7:30 pm and then again the following day to get me up and running. Not to make excuses for him but he started as a 1-2 person operation and has grown exponentially and now has several people working for him. He may be a bit overwhelmed? Clayton is a sharp and creative guy. In my opinion, he makes quality products at a reasonable price. I am sure that he will figure out the customer service/support piece that is critical in a successful business.
