I bought a used milking pump, no motor or nothing, just the pump, I will be setting using a gas engine to run the pump. When I was talking with the service guy he said he had the pump all set up for a 5 hp motor, what kind of modifying to the pump needs to be done to increase the hp motor? I can't figure out what would need to be done.

Pretty hard to say without knowing what you have for a pump.

You have a point there BAP, sorry for not clarifying. All I know reading off the tag on the pump is SR3 then a serial number and it's a rotary style pump. 35 cfm its rated.

I'm guessing that 5 HP is for an electric motor. I don't quite understand that stuff, but a 5 HP gas isn't the same as a 5 HP electric. I think you'd be able to run a bigger gas motor than 5 HP if that's what you're trying to do.

I thought you were getting set up for natural vacuum?

The woods I was talking about natural vacuum is a new lease for the spring of 2018. The current woods that I'm in right now is getting an up grade in pump size. I'm all over the place on here at times :)

Gotcha! I know how that feels. Good luck with your pump question.
