Anyone here on maple trader been lifted by there sap sucker? I plugged it in and both my son and I were lifted when we touched the tank. What an experience. I have taken the diapham pump apart but did not see any wires cut. There was some water in the electrical box, but not much. I resealed it. and am letting it fully dry.. I hope that is what it was. Any thoughts?
Is it a 12volt or 115 volt version of the pump?

First time I’ve heard the term being “lifted”, but assume electrical shock.
First things first…GET THAT PUMP ON A GFI OUTLET!
No sense getting Bar-B-Que’d more than once.
Second, I’m not sure that ShurFlo makes an AC powered pump, the ones I have seen have all been 12VDC. Could be wrong.
But if you’ve wired a 12V pump to 110VAC…well, that’ll do it.
(12VDC at an amp or two wouldn’t be much of a hair raiser, and your post reads as something considerably more)
If it is an AC powered pump, it sounds as if there is more than 1 problem.
It’s not properly grounded, that’s a given, else you’d have popped a breaker long before getting zapped.
The Neutral line may be floating (either improperly connected or not at all) a break could occur at any point between your mains and the pump.
Really though, you ought to have an electrician take a look.
There are a number of other things that could be going on.
Safety first.

I should state that it is the diaphram pump Goodrich Maple sells Not the sap sucker. 110 volt. I do agree gfci outlet needs to be added. The motor seemed to be seized at first then I turned it one time by wrench and would turn by itself after that. I then was shocked by it. I did check the wires for chaffing. Could it be drawing to much electricity through motor and grounding out in the motor itself?

GCFI is required, but if you got a shock the GCFI will perform as designed and shut the power off. It sounds like you have a short someplace. If you just bought it new, call the seller. If not and you are qualified to open the motor, look for any issue with the wires. If you are not qualifed to open it and fix, take it to an electric motor repair shop. You have a short. It my help to connect a ground rod at the tank, but if the short is there that may also trip the circuit.
