Don't have any experience with that tool, but I make a 2 handed tool for $160 shipped. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170226/1dc6579ce02c0b8e9307dfa93697a7d2.jpg

I have this tool, I really like it , the cutter works best if you cut the left side first then the right, it is a little heavy, I cut a piece of tubing and used a couple of end fittings so I could hang it over my neck. Works pretty good like that. I've been using it on 5/16 tubing also.

I have this tool as well, i like it, but have had problems in putting drops in cold weather, tubing slipped out a few times. Also need some sort of guard on the blade when not in use.

I can attest to the work psparr does. I recently purchased one from him and it works fantastic. I was going to make my own, but when I saw his and read the reviews from fellow sap heads, I sent for one. It was sent to me before payment was required and it works just like the ones costing $100.00 more. I put up 15 more taps this morning with it and put the $100.00 I saved in an ungraded transfer pump.
Thanks!
