I assume I have 6" of snow in 50 empty buckets. It looks like sap will be running pretty good this coming week. Would you make the 3 hour round trip and empty the buckets or would you just let it and boil it down with the sap? Correct, no covers on the buckets.:cry:

I would empty the buckets of snow, so you don't have to boil the extra water.

Not a chance for 3 hours. Since it takes, on average, 13" of snow to equal 1" of rain there's be no way that I'd drive that far to worry about 1/2" of water in my buckets. If I lived around the corner, then yes.
