Well here it is still February and the spring peeper's are out strong tonight. For this area it usually means we are done for the season. Also the trees around the house have a green tint to them on the branches.

No spring peepers here yet in Freelton Ontario. I did hear the Sandhill Cranes flying over and calling this week. It was real foggy and I could also hear the quiet call of an Eastern Bluebird. I saw 8 bluebirs two weeks ago while Coyote hunting. They were in the Sumac bushes huddled together for warmth. Apparently since the mid-80's Bluebirds have begun to stay locally as opposed to the short migration to the South. Also lots of Robins stayed over all winter. Its supposed to go below freezing tomorrow night...here's hoping.

Ditto on the spring peepers here in eastern PA... not on my property yet but I hear them in the distance.Worst case scenario for me being my first year doing this is I learned a lot, made some great syrup and can use the summer and fall for an even better season next year. I sure do wish we get another cold shot after these record warmth temps these past two days. This maple stuff sure is fun as all heck:)
