When I put the tubing up it was shoulder height off the ground, now it's barely above the snow and a few spots I have had to dig out. Tapping is proving to be a challenge. Was thinking would get 200 in yesterday, only mustered 112. Got a late start (10:30) and was making manifolds for big trees as we went (my 12 year old son played hooky to help old Dad do some tapping) and had to run some tubing to a cluster of trees that never got tubing due to location. Today should go a little faster.

I hear ya, we have some lines buried in the big bush. And always slow going with deep snow and snowshoes. We'll be ready March 1st....but barely and only because I plan to skip work for a few days in the next couple weeks!

I spent 3 days digging out the mainline, then it all started to melt. I think it was still necessary because it was buried under the ice. We tapped a lot today, so it was worth it!
