I am boiling with a 2 x 4 flat pan. This year I have purchased a float box. I am looking for a way to hook it up with a disconnect so when I drain my batch I can tip the pan to get all of the sweet and for cleaning without fighting the connection from the preheater to float box. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Best way would be a tri-clover connection. You can get a 1" clamp and 2 weld fittings on eBay for about $8. Just need to find someone to weld it on for you.

Not sure what your plumbing looks like... but what about just installing a valve and "union" on your infeed to the float box?
Unions are pretty quick to take apart and put back together.. with a couple pair of channel-locks or vicegrips..
