Ys vs. Ts at the end of the drops

A gentleman asked me why I wasn't using a Y fitting where my drop ties into my lateral lines. I use Ts. I responded that I read a post on Mapletrader from Dr. Tim , that this wasn't a good practice, but really had nothing solid to back it up with. I couldn't remember Dr Tim's theory on this.Please weigh in on this. Thanks up front for any replies.

I'm not positive about this, but I think the Ys you want to avoid are when you use a Y to merge two lateral lines. Using a Y in place of a T seems fine to me, but I don't see any advantage. Also, if you're using a tool to install the Ts onto your drop lines, it seems like it'd be difficult to do that on a Y.
