Storage barrel cleaning

Hey folks new here. Just picked up some plastic barrels that had alcohol in them. Should have got them full. Question is how to clean them up??

There are many ways, mild bleach soak for a few days should work.

If it was grain alcohol should clean easily, if wood alcohol be triple sure it is cleaned out. Either type can't have any trace in the finished syrup.

Assuming i'm too far away from you Bristolhills. Im in the canandaigua area. I picked up a couple blue food grade barrels from canandaigua wine a couple years ago now. Washed them as best i could with soap and water. Never got any fruity flavors in syrup after washing. Also, runnings is selling similar barrels for 19.99 recently and they have a good top on them as well. Just picked one up the other day. Had to wash it out and now theres sap in it for saturdays boil.
