Better Of Two Scenerios

My sugarbush is spread out all over my property. I have a clump of 4 nice size red maples that are spaced 10-15 yards apart on zero slope.

Would the sap yield be better if I went tree to tree with 5/16" tubing to a holding container and created my slope or if I just made long drops to a holding container at each tree? Or would it be the same either way?

My guess is that it wouldn't matter. You won't get any vacuum either way.

Yea same amount of sap. just more containers to service. We went from 400 buckets to 600taps on short run tubing and 30 collection points. Made a huge difference for me to stay awake in the evening. But it did get the blood flowing servicing 400 taps!:)
