We are tapping this weekend. Long term forecast looks great but, this is New England and always subject to change.
Let the fun begin.

I let it run Monday to flush the lines and started collecting Monday night. I hope to have 200 gallons of sap by days end today . That's what I need to get things going and sweeten the pans. It was so much easier tapping trees without snowshoes.
I'll set up the diaphragm pump on the mainline this weekend - after Fridays freeze.
Good luck guys. You will be over your head before you know it!

Thank you so much for the offer to help. I'm all set but you may need some help. Let me know.
Almost all taps were put in last weekend with just some single buckets left to put out around the property. Will hook up the diaphragm pump this weekend.
Made a few gallons yesterday during the storm. With todays freeze, we probably won't have sap until at least Sunday.
If you need help tapping over there this weekend, let me know!

You having any luck out there on your Reds? checking around this morning seems as though there is a lull in the action....

I was away for a few days so I finished tapping just now. I have about 250 buckets and all the reds are producing at least a drip every second. Picked up new half pint supreme with extension at Bascoms this past week. I don't have time to brick it so I'm just going to use the pan on my old half pint for now to increase the boil rate to 8+ gph. I want to talk to foursapsyrup1 about rebuilding the suga shack after this season to accommodate a cupola and the bigger half pint. How are you all doing so far?

Got my guzzler going today on mostly red maples. Despite the warm up it is pulling but only at a trickle. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised tomorrow morning.
Things looked really good at four...errr five saps today.

Congrats on the new pans. Had our second boil yesterday and will be boiling again today. Syrup is light amber, much nicer than last year
We'd be glad to help you with your rebuild.

It was an honor to have you visit the Fivesaps Sugar House yesterday. Always good to meet folks with similar interests.
Best of luck with your new sugar house. Hope to pay you a visit sometime.
