I have a sap/pump shed where the equipment best fits if I can run the sap line 90 degree (elbow fitting) into the extractor. Any problems doing this or will I lose performanceby not having a straight in feed? I could also do about 6" nipple on the extractor to a 22.5 another short nipple then another 22.5 to soften the angle. Or must the sap line have a good length of straight to enter the extractor?

All 3 of our extractors have the sap come in at a 90 degree angle, just the way it works out, seems to work fine

As long as the lines and elbows are sized big enough to handle the flow it will work fine.

I'd be worried about ice and slush jamming up the elbow
Probably only an issue first thing in the morning but something to think about

Yes ice and slush will sometimes jam up first thing in morning,or when temperature starts to fall at night, never been a big issue though, once the sap starts running it will quickly clear out
