Hello Folks! Here's to another great season hopefully for everyone. I am making the upgrade to 3/16th on gravity. I saw somewhere a post with pictures and directions on how to make a hand held tubing spool for setting up my laterals. If anyone could help me find that post again, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Cindy

Thanks for the quick reply psparr, but I was referring to the one that a guy make with a bucket and two pieces of plywood. Rods and bolts. The bucket was used as a spool. Like more of a handheld one

search for (one hour tubing spooler) I made it last year, one addition you need a piece of plywood on the top too , it holds the tubing on better.

I just happened to find it too, and was going to send you the link and I see you found it. I was going to make one like this last year but it was too small for my 1000' rolls so I made it larger and mounted it on a kid's sled and pull it thru the woods.

I'm glad you found my spooler and I hope it works as well for you as it did for me! I originally made it for a 500' roll of D&G tubing but then I bought a couple rolls from Leader that were 800' long. I rebuilt it with a larger centre section to accommodate the larger rolls. When I did that, I made a new fixed hub (the paint can in the original version) but didn't include anything that could rotate with the roll (the roll of sheet metal). That was a mistake and when I used it the first time, we got about 100' unrolled before it wound itself too tight to unroll the rest. Walking along with a loose, heavy roll of tubing in my arms was no fun at all.:lol:
When you make one, you need to make something that is slightly larger than the fixed hub. That part will rotate as you unspool the tubing.
Good luck with it.
