Getting ready to cook on our new SL 2x4 hybrid pan with our homemade arch. Due to the cost and time involved with this upgrade we couldn't build a new sugar shack this year (hopefully next year). The evaporator is on casters and we will be wheeling in and out of the garage before and after boiling. My question is what do people in the same situation do to support the stack. Our base stack is made of 24 gauge stainless and is approximately 3 ft high, we have another 8ft of 24 gauge stainless smoke stack on top of that. The base is attached to the arch with 4 bolts, 2 front and 2 back. It just seems to flimsy to hold up on a windy day. Any thoughts on supporting the stack? Thanks for your time.

If you cant or don't want to pound a stake into the driveway do the cinder block method or you can get some 1/2 elec conduit and make a simple tripod that attaches to the top of the pipe. It comes in 10ft sticks and is cheap and wont rust up. Get some small 1" angle brackets and drill a hole in the ends and mount them to the top lip of the stove pipe. let them swing and just leave them mounted and give them a slight tap into place and your good to go. You can put small chain on them so the dog or kids wont kick them. They will allow you to pull the hot stove pipe off at shut down and stand in garage at night.
