Filter aid ???

If I was to use filter aid to clear up my syrup, using cone prefilters and cone filters, on gravity feed.
How much per gallon should i use?

I was told not to use it unless you had a filter press. I will just clog up the filters

I mix 1/2 cup filter aid with two gallons of syrup and pour in my filter tank. I use 2-3 prefilters on top of the orlon. It comes off of prefilters well, but I do not want it to get in the felt. For a boot filter I would mix 1/4 cup filter aid per gallon of syrup. The syrup should be right off of the evaporator into the filters or boiling from a pot. Make sure you mix it well with a big spoon.

I do just like mountainvan only I have a small home made rig so I draw off through 3 prefilters then finish in my pot over the propane burner then mix a 1/4 cup to a gallon then run it through the felt with a couple prefilters in it. Works fantastic!
