Hi All,
Do folks have any recommendations on insurance companies that cover farm, sugaring operations and home? I saw a thread on Farm Family already but wanted to pursue a few other quotes for comparison.
Thanks! John

I called several companies to switch coverage on our house, as well as add woods and sugar house liability, property damage, and product liability.
The first agent wanted to see the UL sticker on the arch. When he learned there was no such thing, and how hot it operated, he walked away. He apparently wasn't the least bit knowledgable about this subject, nor did he seem interested. The second and third agents are currently working up some itemized price quotes.
So, I suggest you just call around to several companies and solicit some quotes.

That's pretty much the experience that I had, including the fact that I tap several peoples properties and have a wood fired evaporator in a wooden structure. We use Farm Family and it's really nice dealing with someone that doesn't look at you like you have eight heads when you start talking about things.

We use nationwide agribusiness for everything. Sugaring operation, home, and vehicles. Agent here is very knowledgeable on sugaring and farming.

we switched to Nationwide Agri insurance. Have also used Arcadia and Farm Family. Not that many options when dealing with farming that really cover what you do.
