So this is my rough plan for an arch im planning on building. The shaded part is aof. I'm planning on possibly doing air through the door as well. Not sure if it's over kill or not. Pans are getting made and will be drop flue. I was going to do a 5 ft drop flue with 2 one and a half foot syrup pans that way I can add an ro in the future. 1508115082 would having an air in the door be worth doing. I've been looking through some of the builds here and have kinda mashed 3or 4 different builds into one. Thanks in advance. Jordan

Just make sure your arch rails are spaced correctly for your pan connections, you only want about half maybe 3/4 of an inch of pan contacting your arch rails so you would want about a 23-22.5 inch opening between your rails.

Yes it's going to be pretty close to that. Thanks for the heads up.

My pan connections are not spaced correctly so I had to grind some steel off the arch rails and run a 1" thick gasket so the connections don't sit on the rails, you want your connections to be far enough off the side of your pans so they are beyond the arch rails, so if you havery a 3" angle iron for your arch rails you would want your connections to be at least 3" probably 4" from the outside of your pan. Hopefully I explained that well , mine works but it's not ideal

It might just be me but i think your firebox dimensions are backwards. You want the top of the firebox ramp to meet the drop flue pan. According to your plans it will be 5' back from the door. That means that ~2.5' of the drop flue pan will be in the firebox area.
