HI,

I built my own 4x40 RO for use last year for $1,200 and wanted to share the parts list in the event that any body else wanted to build one. Overall I am pretty happy with it. Unfortunately I cannot get the file size/extension correct to add as an attachment. But, I am happy to email anyone the parts list and a few pictures. Hope that it helps and have a great season!

I use Photobucket for all my photos. When you attach them you copy the link from photo bucket and attach it as a link in your post. Nice big pictures. Saves having to resize files.

I just cleaned up my PM folder. For some reason it wasn't notifying me if I had a pm. Good to go now.

I like it. I've been thinking about adding a second membrane and bypass to mine. I think I'll settle for bypass this season and mess with the second membrane next season. I'm curious to see how yours worked out with the membrane up front like that. I put the motor up front and membrane in back.

Any chance the build info can get posted here? You can post it once which may save you several emails. Plus, I'd like to see it :)

I don't know that the OP has ever returned since making the initial post. Has anyone received a reply?

Hasn't visited the site since Jan 19 according to his profile so I would guess you are right.

Hello everyone.

I need some help!!! I followed some of the build directions for a 4" by 40" here on MapleTrader. I built my RO, but have run into a snag. My high pressure pump is a Procon 240 gph. I attached it to a 3/4 HP motor. I fired up the unit earlier this week for the first time. My feed pump works well, and builds up to about 60 psi. My problem is when I turn on my high pressure pump it builds pressure in the membrane to about 110 psi… then the motor stops spinning the Procon. The motor still has power and I can hear it humming, but it will not build more pressure. When the pressure drops back to 60 psi, the high pressure pump will start spinning again, then stop at 110 psi. I have read here that others have used a 3/4 HP motor on their Procon. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm looking for any advice that you can offer. Thanks.19678[/ATTACH19678 1967819678[19678

Is your motor wired correctly?

Well… I would say yes, but there again, I might have it wrong. I will double check. Here are the photos. I thought that I followed the diagram.19679196791967919680

Are you using 220v or 110v to feed the motor?

Does your procon have the built in pressure regulator? It may be that you need to adjust that and not a motor issue at all. It would be an adjuster under a acorn nut on the side of the pump. Turn in (clockwise) with screwdriver to increase pressure and reinstall acorn nut.

What voltage are you using to run the motor with? That will tell you which wiring diagram to use.

BAP,

You were correct!!! Thank you very much. I missed some of the connections. I did not have it wired correctly. It is working like a charm now!! Thank you all for your help.
