Just heard from a friend of mine out in the Alstead area, his buddy who has 5000 taps woke up to 6400 gallons this morning.

I cant tap until Feb 13th at the earliest as I have to go away for work....Im REALLY annoyed right now LOL

If you're using sap sacks you can really only expect your taps to produce for 6-8 weeks. If you tapped right now you'd likely be dried up by first week in March. With any luck we'll be getting big sap runs then.

I drilled a couple holes yesterday and they did nothing. didn't even get wet inside the hole. Still some time to go as long as these temps don't continue. It is hard to get last season off your mind though. producers around me that were tapped early made a good chunk of syrup in Jan. Hopefully more of a normal season this year.

I tapped a tree at my house I don't normally tap and it started flowing right away.
