I have an opportunity to sell my syrup in a local business. What percentage of the sale do you typically get to keep in that situation? For example, a local business I frequent carries another local producer's syrup and value added products. They are getting $12 for a pint. How much do you think the store paid for that?

Typically retail stores are looking for 28%-35% margin on grocery items minimum; so my guess is they probably are paying $8-$9 wholesale.

We generally charge stores 75% of our retail price. They often mark it up even higher than our suggested retail, depending on the nature of the store and the customers they serve.

I would agree with the majority of the listed margins, don't forget your costs on your end. Liability insurance, state licenses, inspection feeS. They can all add up and cut into bottom line

Our wholesale is 80%. Never had a complaint. The few retail stores that we deal with raise the price of the syrup above our retail cost. And always sell out! That goes for syrup, honey, and beeswax candles.

Ditto. We only have one wholesale setup and we have the same results.
