First year setting up 3/16th tubing/gravity here in MN. I've got 100' of elevation drop and doing several runs of 15-25 taps into collection. A question that I feel like I should know the answer to but am maybe overlooking:

1) What fitting do folks use for more than one tap in a larger tree on a run? Droplines -> Y fitting -> Lateral? Or separate T's for each drop?

You want to use separate Tee for each drop

Thanks. Appreciate it. I will delete this thread now out of embarrassing question. :D

I don't think that was a dumb question! Leave it up!

There's no such thing as a dumb question. If we don't ask questions we don't learn new things

The only dumb question is the one that is never asked. Asking questions is the best way to learn and keep from making mistakes.

I always wondered myself but a few years ago I noticed several areas with tubing and stopped to check out the system. Thought it was pretty cool, but where I collect from not practical. only have a few trees over 6 acres.

Not a dumb question at all. Take a look at this treatise on tubing. At least back when running tubing was pretty new, it seems that both methods you mention were recommended. See figure 20 for one version, and figure 21 for the other. https://www.fs.fed.us/ne/newtown_square/publications/research_papers/pdfs/scanned/OCR/ne_rp240.pdf

Cheers!

I too thank you for the link. I printed it off this morning. Dude looks like he should have a HAWKEN Rifle over his other shoulder.
