sugar sands byproducts and getting away from DE filtering

I am wondering who is using sugar sands (niter) to make products or byproducts? It seems there wpould be a lot of minerals and other good stuf and such available to make stuff. Interested in turning all waste into something valuable. even considering fermenting it.

also interested in other methods of filter pressing, or filtering without DE. mainly because DE affects organic certification, is a non renewable resource, and would degrade the sugar sand byproducts.

I had the same question last year, I had someone that wanted it for use in soap a couple years ago. I gave her about 10 pounds of straight off the filter sugar sand,nitre. Never heard from her again nor did I get any soap. I've always wondered what could be done with it. I've got a 5 gallon pail full of it in my chest freezer. I saved it last year hoping I'd see her again or find a way to use it for something. It stays almost like peanut butter while in the freezer. Won't freeze completely. Got a real maple smell too.

If you use DE you can be USDA Certified Organic if you don't use DE you could be 100% Organic. There aren't many 100% Certified Organic items. So how do you filter without DE and get crystal clear Syrup?
