Look it up on the Gast web site. If you need to you can also contact Gast technical service and they will most likely help you.

I never heard of a 3565 and their website doesn't list one either. It may be discontinued. They don't list parts for it and that's a red flag IMO. Aside from that, the 2565 pulls 26" on 600 taps. It'll do 28" moving no air at all and is rated for 21 cfms. The 4565 does 25"moving no air, and is rated for 47.5 cfms so I'm guessing it's somewhere in the middle. The 65 series is one of their best ones for maple. I ran a 2565 on a 3hp gas engine and 2-2565s on a 6hp. engine, both at about 2/3 throttle and the proper pulleys to run the pumps at 17 to 1800 rpms.

I ran 2- 2565 v2v gast pumps on 1100 taps and could hold 22-24 inches GREAT Pumps. Ran them on 220volts on a 5500 watt pramac generator

I'm pretty partial to these pumps as well. I ran the 2 pumps on 1250+ and got about 25" I ran them a little faster than the recommended rpm which I'm pretty comfortable doing. This year I'm running 3 at that location all on 1.5hp 220v electric motors. We'll see what happens.

Once you have the pulleys set on both pump and motor use a straight edge or you can clamp a piece of angle to the pulley making sure you have contact on both edges mark and drill holes. Shredding belts happen if they are to tight or possibly you have the wrong grove size for the belt. Some belts dont work well on small pulleys the flex preaks them down. You might try a belt that has the cut outs on the inside edge like a serpentine style. I have 5 Gast vacuum systems and belts were never the issue.

Used to buy my belts from Napa and they never lasted. Bought them from a farm supply catalog and never had a problem. Direct drive is also an option.

Most places you can buy belts have different grades of them. Make sure you buy the ruggedest grade they have.

I prefer direct drive but if I remember right from my 2065 you need a bushing to fit before the Love joy Coupler. I had a pump that I got one time with the wrong sized belt. I bought a lawnmower belt at Tractor Supply no problems. Pretty sure an older machinery mechanic who's 94 once told me he used all lawnmower belts because they were stronger. If this is a setup you are building you could maybe try some sort idler pulley.

This stype belt can bend around smaller pulleys and wont crack as quick and still have plenty of surface hitting the pulley.

How should I set up my belt so that it's easier to change ?

Well if you dont have the motor/engine on slides then you can go hillbilly and get a few belts that are from the same manufacture and lot number. You can buy matched sets and just do the old roll it onto the pulleys.....yes with the motor OFF. The spare is so when it wears out the new one will fit.

Tractor supply has a pretty good variety of pulleys including idlers. I've rigged up idlers on a stick and a pivot and held tension with a bungee cord. Pretty basic but works well. You vary the tension either by pivoting closer or away from the pulley or, adjusting tension on your bungee or spring. I prefer idlers (tensioners) that ride on the back of the belt but either way can be good depending on the situation.

That's a 55 cfm pump but it's rated for a MAX. 20 hgs while while the 2565 is rated for 28. The 5 hp. will probably run it. It'll run 2 2565s. IMO, I'd go with a tensioner. It works well and you simply relieve the spring or tension and slip the belt right off. I suppose a slide would be good if you could make a plate that had 1 or 2 easily accessible bolts to loosen it instead of having to loosen 4 bolts on the motor or pump.
