I just reviewed this excellent maple narrative designed to increase consumer confidence, and the use of pure maple syrup. A valuable read and gift for maple consumers and producers of all levels, great book.

It is a very good book sir. In the past two years I have spent a lot of time at Crown and in the New England States reviewing maple operations. My son is doing a fantastic externship at Crown after having graduated from Michigan State University with a four year Agribusiness management degree. The Crown open houses are a good way to meet and mingle with other sugar makers of all sizes. The book sums up Crown's commitment to the consumer.

It has been a good story. After 33 years in the pet food, pharmacy, beef and veterinary world, and 20 years in maple, I can now concentrate all of my efforts traveling and learning more about the maple industry. As a small 5,000 tap sugarbush owner, maybe I can in some minor way help promote the virtues of pure maple syrup, and those who produce it.

i dont like the first approch of Crown maple from their debut, but it seem that they now declare that they had to learn and listen from others producers..
The history part seems well made.

I would have to agree with you. The first way they marketed their products left a "bad" taste in my mouth. Simple farmers like myself, with deep family roots and traditions in the maple industry felt belittled with their ads that their stuff was superior.

As a maple producer myself, I too looked at Crown's early days. It is unfortunate that Crown's outside media, marketing and production firms produced information not supportive of the industry as a whole. I went through this many times while CEO of Drs. Foster and Smith, media and marketing tended to get overzealous and oftentimes misquoted me or the company. We see that every day with media. As conflicting as it can be, you learn to make the necessary changes and move your industry forward. Despite a learning curve which Crown alluded to, I believe Crown is currently doing an excellent job of market creation. Market creation, and mostly market creation, is a pillar which benefits all maple producers.
