New Evaporator

Just finished setting up my new arrival, a Mason 2X4 XL with raised flue

This year, I plan to tap about 100 Reds on vacuum and another 20 or so sugar maples on buckets.

Was using a barrel stove last year so this is quite an upgrade for me.

Now I just have to figure out how to connect the head tank to the float box :o

Nice rig. I am sending my Mason 2x4 pan back to Bill Mason this week for a float box and modifications so it can be used on either side. Let me know what you think of his float box design and how it hooks up to the head tank. You will be happy with his work. Looks like you got high output setup there. I should have gotten that a few years ago instead.

Nice looking evaporator. You are going to really enjoy making maple syrup now!!! Having a unit with a float box makes life soooo much easier when you are boiling. Have fun.
