Hello, hoping some experts can help me!

I've been busy rebuilding the arch that my grandfather used since time out of mind. He passed 10 or 12 years ago and it had gone unused. I've mostly got that rebuilt now, but I need to find a new pan (his was old, likely leaden). I've checked the used stuff at Bascom's but it seems pricey, and sort of beat up.

I found this guy online: http://stainlesssteelcreations.net/48inx24inx7i.html

Wondering if anyone thinks this is a good deal, or what?

Thanks so much for your help!

Look up A$A metals.

I checked around, and didn't see anything. Do you have a link by chance? Is this an alternative supplier?

A&A is amish in PA so they don't have a website. Check out Next Generation Maple in Syracuse, NY. They might be a source for a pan.

Another place is Smokey Lake Maple.

Another place is Northwood Stainless in Maine. http://nwstainless.wixsite.com/northwoods-stainless
Also, if you know anyone who welds stainless steel, you might be able to get one made for you. Good Luck

Not to overwhelm you but Bill Mason is a great source as well. Give him a call and he can discuss what you need and get you a price.

I would also recommend Northwoods Stainless. I have purchased items from both and have been happy with price, service and quality.

I can speak to the quality of Northwoods stainless. He does GREAT work.....and a 2x4 pan is roughly the same price as you listed.

Thanks all, I really appreciate the input. I've reached out to some folks, since a few didn't have prices for pans alone on their websites. So far, it seems that the prices at http://stainlesssteelcreations.net/masyeq.html are the best. Also, he is using 18ga steel - I like the idea of having a thicker gauge for durability. At least I know I'm not way off.

Thanks!

There is a guy who advertises on VT craigslist in St. Albans that seems to have pretty reasonable prices.

Related question here.. Should I have fittings at both the front right and back left of the pan so that it can be reversed? What is the deal with reversing the flow? That's done to prevent niter buildup? How often do I need to do it? Do I need to do it at all?

I've got a smokey lake maple 2x4 continous flow pan with their float box (float box is a must imo). I was very happy with it last season.

If you have a float box you will have ports on both corners. Would be easy to have both corners with same port. Then either a valve or box could go on either corner. Very simple if done with sanitary clamps.
